Valuable Lessons

1. Show respect to receive it.  There is a huge difference between not respecting someone and disrespecting someone! You can show respect to someone without truly respecting them. For example, you should still show respect to people who are mean to you but you don't have to have respect to be the bigger person.
2. Work hard in everything you do. I've been taught to work hard for everything because in the long run a good work ethic will get you further than pure talent.
3. Don't worry about what other people think. There will always be people out there to criticize you and most of the time you haven't done anything wrong. They just need something to do. So always be yourself because there is only one you!
4. Be You! There is and always will be only one of you so embrace it!
5. Always be willing to give "one more". It doesn't matter if it's at school, work, practice, or a game, always be willing to give that extra "one" that can make the biggest difference.
6. You create your own future. You will not just be given everything in life. Sometimes you have to make your own opportunities.
7. Live everyday like it's your last. Within the last few years I've lost a lot family and friends. Although these were sad time they taught that never know when your time is coming so you should live everyday to fullest and always be happy.
8. How to turn the other cheek. One of the hardest things to learn in life is how to ignore people who try to bring you down. If you know in your heart that what you're doing is right then you don't need worry.
9. How to use technology. Our world is becoming more and more electronic everyday so it's nice to know how to navigate through it.
10. Count on God's plan, not mine. I don't know how many times I've made plans to do something that I think is a good deed that doesn't work out, but in the end it turns out so much better than I ever imagined.
